Gokhan Tanriover

After a gruelling six years studying medicine at Imperial College, and two years working in hospital as a doctor, Gokhan followed his passion and dedicated his time exclusively to photography. His latest series – „Confessionals“ – is just remarkable and really stood out from other works of graduates of the University of Westminster, London. His First Class Honours degree confirm the remarkable talent, who is currently pursuing his MA Photography at the Royal College of Art.

But it can be already said that Gokhan is blessed with this unique and very rare gift of combining simplicity and sophistication. With an eye for the detail he is able to give every photo its story to tell. So takes only a short glimpse to make it clear that beyond each image lies deeper meaning and lived experiences. Especially photographs that relate to autobiographical memory and notions of identity and gender are therefore focussed by him.
