Alienation VII
The Alienation-Project marks in its existence Art History itself. That might sound exaggerated, but fact is, that it was created using a special technique called Siligraphy. This technique which was developed by Snejina Biserova, who happened to be Rivanov’s teacher at that time. Printed in 2005, the same year Biserova finalised her technique only to start preparing for going public one year later, those masterpieces are in fact part of the first generation made that way. Bisserova’s book „Siligraphy – a waterless surface-printing method„, which was published in 2006, includes therefore the Trilogy in the picture part.
What is Siligraphy?
It’s a water-less planographic printmaking process based on the repellence of ink and silicone. Designs are drawn or painted with water-soluble art materials onto ground glass. The surface is then coated with silicone, covering the non-printing areas of the image and leaving the exposed areas to be coated in ink applied with a roller. The final step – making the print – is done after pressing the paper against the inked drawing.
Though the triptych is well known and the title is usually referring to the triptych, the Alienation-Siligraphy-Print-Project includes in total 14 prints. We are totally thrilled about the Rivanov’s approval to sell except of one all other nine prints on HOHLBAUM.ART!

Rivanov
Rivanov hat sich mit Zeichnungen und Druckgraphiken auf den Thementopos der Einsamkeit spezialisiert. Auch Kreidezeichnungen menschenleerer Städte oder Tuschezeichnungen verlassener Ruinen vermitteln als Folge des bewussten Lichtspiels eine zärtliche Romantik der Einsamkeit. Rivanovs Kunst lädt nicht dazu ein sie zu „konsumieren“, sie dekorativ zu platzieren, ohne sich damit bewusst auseinandersetzen zu müssen. Vielmehr wirbt sie für Einsamkeit – oder wie der Name der des Triptychons nahe legt – Entfremdung umzudeuten, individuell zu bewerten und darin auch Intimität zu erkennen. Die Vielseitigkeit, die Rivanov hierbei in den Gestaltungsformen und Medien beweist, zeigt, dass der junge Bulgare zwar mit großem Talent gesegnet ist, sich hinsichtlich seiner Ausdrucksweise aber nicht festlegen will.
